Custom Foot & Ankle Support
Walk, Work, and Move Without Limitation
Foot and ankle problems rarely stay localized. Pain at the arch, heel, or forefoot changes the way you walk, and that altered movement pattern can travel up the chain, contributing to knee pain, hip discomfort, and low back strain.
At MOR, orthotics are a clinical tool, prescribed and fitted by our licensed therapists as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. Our therapists evaluate your foot mechanics, gait pattern, and full-body alignment before recommending any orthotic intervention. The goal is to restore the mechanical function that allows you to move the way you need to.

Our Orthotics: Sole Supports
MidSouth Orthopaedic Rehab uses Sole Supports custom orthotics, handcrafted in Middle Tennessee using medical-grade materials. Unlike store-bought insoles that only add cushioning, Sole Supports orthotics are built using MASS Posture technology. Each pair is custom-molded to your foot in its most functional posture and calibrated to your body weight, flexibility, and activity level. The result is full-contact arch support that corrects postural imbalances from the ground up.
What Makes Sole Supports Different
Most orthotics are made from a flat impression or a digital scan of how your foot sits at rest. Sole Supports are cast in the corrected position, capturing the shape your foot needs to function properly. They are calibrated to your specific weight and activity demands, which means they provide the right amount of resistance to postural collapse without being rigid or uncomfortable.
What to Expect at Your Consultation
Your consultation starts with a screening to assess how your feet affect your overall posture. From there, we capture a mold of each foot in its ideal, corrected posture using a patented foam casting box. The casting process is quick. All you need to do is remove your shoes. Your orthotics are then manufactured and fitted to your specific footwear, whether that is an athletic shoe, a work boot, or a dress shoe.
How Long Do Custom Orthotics Last?
Most patients get many years of reliable support from their Sole Supports orthotics before needing a replacement. If you experience a significant change in weight or activity level, or if you want your top cover refreshed, schedule a follow-up with your therapist.
Custom vs. Prefabricated
Not every patient needs a custom orthotic. Our therapists will give you an honest recommendation based on your evaluation.
Custom Orthotics
Custom orthotics from Sole Supports are individually molded to your foot and indicated when a significant structural deviation requires precise correction. Each pair is calibrated to your weight, flexibility, and activity level, and built to fit your specific footwear.
Prefabricated Orthotics
Prefabricated orthotics are high-quality, clinically selected inserts that address many common conditions effectively and at a lower cost. When a prefabricated device will produce the same outcome as a custom one, we will tell you.
Proper fit, break-in guidance, and follow-up are included in your care.
Custom Orthotics for Athletes
Your feet are your foundation. When they are out of alignment, the rest of your body compensates. That leads to wasted energy, poor balance, and a greater risk of injury. Orthotics correct the subtle mechanical inefficiencies that slow performance or lead to overuse injuries.
•Better balance through optimal foot posture and force distribution
•Improved stride efficiency by correcting overpronation and supination
•Stronger power transfer through proper alignment of the kinetic chain
•Reduced overuse injuries by stabilizing your gait cycle
•Compatible with cleats, running shoes, and sport-specific footwear
Frequently Asked Questions
Ask your therapist about custom orthotics if you experience foot, knee, hip, or back pain. MASS Posture orthotics are especially helpful for posture-related conditions like plantar fasciitis, shin splints, bunions, and hammertoes. Many patients without a formal diagnosis also notice benefits within a few days, including better posture, reduced fatigue, and greater flexibility.
Over-the-counter insoles provide cushioning but do not correct the underlying mechanics causing your pain. Sole Supports orthotics are custom-molded and calibrated to your body. They address the root cause of dysfunction rather than just absorbing impact.
